What I can see
In this location there was an altar dedicated to Zeus, called Agoraios Zeus because it was located in the Agora. From its traces, which consist mainly of the foundations and the steps, it appears that the building was made of luxurious Pentelic marble.
What I can't see
There was an earlier sanctuary, which may have been a much larger structure. It was probably not completely destroyed by the Persians and so the altar continued to be used for centuries. During Roman times, it may have been transported to Pnyx.
