Sounion Beach
The Sounion beach is under the ancient temple of Poseidon. The central beach is located on the west of side the cape.

What I can see
North of the Temple of Poseidon is the Sounion beach. It is about 200m long, sandy, family friendly and most of it is organized as there are hotel facilities. The waters are clear and the experience of swimming under such a rare ancient monument is unique.
What I can't see
There is a rocky shore under the archaeological site, which is visited by daring swimmers, mostly nudists. Although the idea of swimming at the southernmost tip of Attica is appealing, the sea is often rough, there are sea currents, and swimming is not always a good idea. There are safer rocky coves on the eastern side of the peninsula.
