Athens City Museum

The Athens City Museum is housed at the then temporary palace of king Otto.

Today, the museum houses about 40,000 items. The limited space led to the proposal to transfer the museum to the Academy of Plato. This plan, however, is problematic as the city museum would be removed from the city centre and space problems cοuld be solved by its extension, utilising the surrounding unused property. This would also be a good way to save money for its modernisation.
