What I can see

This  is a five-storey eclectic building of the interwar era, and combines many European styles. Today, it houses Vasilis and Marina Theocharakis Foundation of Fine Arts and Music. It includes 500 sq.m. of exhibition halls, an auditorium of 175 seats, a cafe-restaurant, and an art shop. It accommodates small and large-scale exhibitions, musical events, seminars, workshops and lectures.

What I can't see

The main objective of the foundation is to promote the relationship and dialectic between different art forms (e.g. visual arts, architecture, music) and research fields. It has collaborated with the Museum of Modern Art of Saint Étienne, the St. Petersburg Museum, the Boston Museum of Fine Arts and others. Some of the most important exhibitions ever hosted have been: “From Picasso to Yves Klein”, “The Austrian post-war avant-garde”, “Nikolaos Gyzis”, “The World of Odysseus Elytis” and “Still life” by important painters of the 1600s and onwards. Hopkinson Smith, Red Priest, Soloists of La Scala in Milan, Dimitris Kavrakos, and Stephen Kovacevic have been included among the major music events. The Theocharakis Foundation also offers dozens of educational-artistic programs, primarily for children.
