What I can see

It was founded as the School of Economics and Commercial Sciences (ASOEE) and today is the Athens University of Economics and Business. It is housed in an interwar building, designed by Anastasios Metaxas, has a Π-shaped floor plan and consists of a retreating central wing and two symmetrical side wings. The building is an example of the late classicism of the interwar period, an era when modernism began to establish its presence in architecture, which is why we can see several modernist elements on it (e.g. strict symmetries). The top floor of the central section and the wing on the side of Mavromateon Street were added later to meet the growing needs of the university.

What I can't see

The school was initially housed in another building. This particular one was built with a bequest from Gregorios Maraslis. The Athens University of Economics and Business consists of 3 schools (School of Economics, School of Business Administration and School of Information Sciences and Technology), 8 departments, 33 research laboratories, collaborates with institutions from all over the world and has a rich activity in postgraduate programs, doctoral and postdoctoral research programs.
