The relief composition on the northwest facade of the former Hilton Hotel has an archaic theme, is made of Pentelic marble (like the Acropolis monuments), and exudes monumentality. It is a touch of Greekness, in a building that – at that time – was architecturally extroverted, following international trends.
Despite the initial objections to the construction of the massive – for the time – Hilton, the combination of Greek antiquity and modernism in the work of Giannis Moralis finally made a good impression. At the same time, this luxurious project inclines us tο the luxury of the hotel’s interior.
