What I can see

“Eros breaking a bow” is a full-body marble statue, depicting the god Eros breaking a bow with his leg. This is a fine example of early 20^th century sculpture and is well positioned inside the garden of Zappeio. It is quite similar in its depiction of the bending of the body and facial expression with the “small fisherman” also located in this garden. The curve of its back lends a sense of movement and dynamism to the hands. 

What I can't see

It was designed in the late 19^th century and won an award in Paris in 1900. The sculptor was Georgios Vrutοs (1843-1908). The wings of Eros have broken many times in the past and the last restoration of the sculpture was made by the Directory of Conservation of Antiquities of the Ministry of Culture.
