The Satyr

A marble full-body sculpture depicting a satyr playing a wind instrument.

    The exact date of its creation is not known. However, it is believed to date back to the mid-war period (1923-1940).

What I can see

The “Satyr” is a free standing 1.20-metre-high marble sculpture. It depicts a satyr playing a wind instrument. The satyr is vividly portrayed, with a striking, expressive face, playful gaze and a naughty smile.

What I can't see

It was made by the Athenian Giorgos Dimitriadis (1880-1941).
