What I can see

The Zoology Museum of the Kapodistrian University of Athens is housed in the university taking up an area of approximately 2,200 sq.m. Its exhibits consist of approximately 500 mammals from all continents, approximately 2,500 birds, including all species found in Greece, collections of bird eggs and nests, almost 1,000 reptiles, many amphibians and fish species from Greece and around the world, large collections of insects, arthropods, mollusks, invertebrates, corals, crustaceans and many other exhibits.

 

What I can't see

It belongs to the biology department of the University of Athens. It is the first and most complete museum of zoology in Greece and one of the oldest museums in the country. Beyond the opportunity for scientific study, this museum was an important alternative for the education and entertainment for the public, at a time when there were no audio-visual media. The objectives of the museum include research, the education of students, pupils and the public, the preservation of the natural heritage, the enrichment and maintenance of the museum’s material and data banks, the development of the library and the organization of conferences, workshops and seminars.
