Agios Dimitrios Metro Station
Agios Dimitrios Metro Station has central platform, the main feature of which is the perspectives of its linear elements.

What I can see
It is a fully underground station with 2 levels and a central platform. In addition to granite and aluminum, which are found in several stations, the architectural features of the station are the linear elements of the spacious platform level, such as the lights supported by cables and the design of the ventilation ducts. They both create strong perspectives. The enclosed balconies with glass openings and escalators evoke the feeling of an airport terminal.
What I can't see
Indeed, the station of Agios Dimitrios was terminal, until the extension to Elliniko was completed. Initially, it was decided to be called “Ilioupoli”, as no extension of the line was scheduled and it would also serve Ilioupoli district. Ultimately, it was named after the area where it is located and the second name of the station is “Alexandros Panagoulis”. It was given in honour of the anti-dictatorship fighter and later MP who, after the restoration of democracy, was killed here in a car accident, at a point in time that suspicions aroused about involvement of parastatals.
