What I can see

In Kato Toumpa, in the area also known as “151”, we see only 2 out of 4 or 5 buildings that originally existed. These buildings have simple lines, ergonomics and are habitable to this day. They need, however, maintenance and restoration.

What I can't see

They were named so, because they were built to house homeless people, due to the bombings of the Second World War. The Italian bombing cost the lives of 232 people. Since the beginning of the war, the Italians systematically bombarded Thessaloniki. 1/3 of the dead in Greece from bombings in the years 1940-1941 were in Thessaloniki. These buildings were landmarks of Toumba for decades.
