What I can see
At the foot of Philopappos Hill, is the Dionysos restaurant, which is in direct view with the Acropolis. It has a tiered layout of the spaces, so that it respects the hill’s terrain and is better integrated into it. The balconies and the semi-outdoor spaces form the central atrium. The building is an original combination of modernism with references to Greek traditional architecture, as shown by the use of specific materials and patterns.
What I can't see
It was designed by Prokopios Vassiliadis, a very famous architect in the country during the late 1950s. The interior decoration was curated by Giannis Moralis and Eleni Vernardaki. The deterioration of the building is noticeable, after the replacement of the marble floor of the atrium, as well as from other additions and alterations.
