What I can see
Fabrica Artspace consists of 4 sections: a) the Fabrica Theater Stage, which is a 50-seat theatre in the black box logic and entirely made of recyclable or second-hand materials, b) the vintage style ground floor, a polymorphic space, which functions as the theatre’s foyer, café and bar, and is also an ideal space for study, relaxation, entertainment, presentations, seminars, private events and many more c) the loft, which mainly functions as the artspace’s office and sometimes as an exhibition and projection space or reading room, d) the courtyard, an outdoor space that operates from spring to autumn and where one can enjoy a coffee, a drink or a cocktail, watch events and listen to music played by selected DJs. Fabrica Artspace is LGBTQI+ friendly and is famous for its love for pets, the very friendly environment, its kind staff and the value for money services.
What I can't see
A multi-active group took the initiative to create their own space in a former repair shop and in the then degraded area of Keramikos, aiming at the promotion of art as a cultural way out against the “dead-end” imposed by the economic crisis. Among the goals of the group are the development and promotion of independent artistic creation, research and education, the team spirit and interconnection of artistic fields and artists. The group’s activities include all areas of theatre, circus, yoga and DIY constructions. More specifically, Fabrica puts on theatrical performances and street theatre shows, co-organizes and participates in European programs, workshops and seminars in Greece and abroad, contributes to the inmates’ education in penal institutions and has introduced the original theatrical methodology “Theatre of Research”. Moreover, the group pioneered “Bubble Performing” art, organizes entertainment events and the annual multi-themed “Handmade and Recycled Theater Festival”.
