What I can see

In an area of 0.65 acres of a former camp and specifically in two former stables of the cavalry and their surrounding area, the National Sculpture Gallery is hosted. One building hosts periodic exhibitions. The works in the permanent collection are representative of modern Greek sculpture and have been created by the most important Greek artists of the 19th and 20th centuries. In the outdoor space we find various sculptures, some of which are the “Twelve ray spoked wheel” (Theodoros Papadimitriou, 1993), “Mass Transport” (Yiannis Gaitis, 1983), “Black Heads” and “Yellow Heads” (Giannis Gaitis, 1994), the “Olympic Circles” (Giorgos Zongolopoulos, 1998) and the “Dance of Zalongo” (Giorgos Zongolopoulos, 1953). Other sculptures are by Papagiannis, Michalea, Avramidis, Rodin, Apartis, Raftopoulou, Liti, Gerolimatos, Dimitriadis, Armakolas, Lambrou and others.

What I can't see

It is a branch of the National Gallery. The works have been in its warehouses for years and come mainly from artist donations. The transfer and setting of the sculpture gallery was done with the assistance of the Stavros Niarchos Foundation.
