What I can see

The National Theatre was expanded in two phases. The first expansion was carried out in the 1960s, at the corner of Agiou Konstantinou and Menandrou Streets, and designed by Manos Perrakis. With this expansion, Ziller’s original plan, who was the architect of the National Theatre, was completed. The second phase took place several decades later, with the construction of a new building, which was integrated with the old one, in a discreet way and through the use of glass. It is clad in GFRC (Glass Fiber Reinforce Concrete), has relief surfaces and engraved letters in brown colour, an overall contemporary architectural approach, but with respect for the historic building.

What I can't see

The new building houses the Experimental Stage. The new wing of the first expansion houses the New Stage, a flexible stage that can be transformed into a circular theatre, an Elizabethan stage and other shapes. The Messini Hotel had to be demolished to make way for this wing.
