This 5.6m high marble column bears reliefs of Christian symbols and is crowned with a capital with relief decorations. The stele sits on a marble pedestal and on its façade, bears a short dedication to Neophytos Doukas and the donor of the monument, publisher Andreas Koromilas. On the 4 sides of the pedestal, the dedications are more detailed and in an ancient poetic style.
The sculpture was designed by Christian Hansen and is dedicated to the clergyman, scholar and first director of the Rizarios School, Neophytos Doukas (1760-1845).
