The full-body brass sculpture, a work by Mary Papakonstantinou, is an example of abstract expressionism. An obviously tired female figure has sat down to rest. The simplicity of the form does not deprive it of expressiveness. The sculpture, however, is rather poorly supported, as neither foot fully touches the ground.
The sculpture is a donation from the Soroptimist Association of the Municipality of Athens. It is a tribute to every woman who struggles for survival and a reminder of what remains to be achieved for gender equality.

2000 It was vandalized by beheading, but was restored by the sculptor herself at the expense of the Municipality of Athens. It is unknown exactly when the sculpture was created.
