A bronze sculpture depicting a female figure with a torch and a sailor with cannon is placed on a marble monolith. Its style is dramatic and epic and there is plasticity, movement and intensity in the figures. On the base, there is also a dedication to the two heroes it depicts.
It is dedicated to the heroes of the 1821 Greek War of Independence, Hatziantonis and Domna Visvizi, who came from Eastern Thrace (present day Turkyie). The work was created by Giorgos Tsaras.
