What I can see

The British School at Athens, also known as the British School of Archeology at Athens, is housed in three buildings, the oldest of which was designed by Francis Cranmer Penrose and the second by Heaton Comyn. The third is quite later and was built to house the archaeological laboratory.

What I can't see

It is one of seven international British research institutes to receive annual funding from the British Academy. The aim of the school is to promote research in many fields, from the high arts, to archaeometry, in a vast time spectrum that starts from prehistory and reaches the present day. It is not limited to archaeology, but develops scientific activity in anthropology, linguistics, political science, geography, history, epigraphy, literature, philosophy and art history. It also implements academic programs, seminars, conferences, publishes scientific articles, finances Greek researchers and researchers in Greece and grants scholarships to students and teaching personnel. In addition, the school is active in Cyprus, Egypt and Libya. The “Knossos Research Centre” in Heraklion, Crete is the annex of the British School at Athens.
