What I can see

The church is dedicated to Saints Anargyri, but it is also called “Agiotafitiko metochi” which means annex of the Holy Sepulcher monastery. It probably belonged to the well-known Athenian Kolokynthis family. It is a single-aisled basilica of the Ottoman times, became the catholicon (main church) of a women’s monastery, later a men’s monastery, and then became annex of the Holy Sepulcher in Jerusalem, as is the case today and is also written on the marble inscription of the central gate. It is sheltered by an elongated arch, which internally has arches and ends in corner niches. A few cells of the monastery and a well are preserved in the courtyard.

What I can't see

The first theological school of the newly established Greek state operated here and later hosted the first offices of the Athens Metropolitan Church. Its bell was always rung first on Good Friday, followed by the rest of the city’s churches.
