What I can see
Aegli cinema dates back to the time of the First World War and is one of the first summer cinemas in the city. It is located in a green and beautiful location. We do not know what it was like in the beginning, but it was certainly a rectangular courtyard with a wall. On one narrow side were the entrance, the canteen and the machines and on the other, the screen, as it is still the case today. The screen is an architectural jewel of classicist aesthetics.
What I can't see
The Aegli cinema has always been a favourite place for Athenians and a tourist attraction throughout its history. At the same time, it was often combined with a visit to the historic Aegli Cafe, right next to the cinema.
