What I can see

The Film Archive of Greece, designed by Nikos Belavilas and Vasso Trova, is housed in the place where between the years 1948 and 1975 the listed Lais summer cinema operated. In addition to the 300-seat summer cinema, the space includes two movie theatres of 174 and 51 seats, the Cinema Museum and a library. Pre-film, workshop, projection, shooting, and editing objects are exhibited in the museum. The bust of Aglaia Mitropoulou also stands out in the foyer.

What I can't see

The Film Archive of Greece is the oldest film institution in the country. For many years, it was housed in the Deligiorgis Mansion. It is a member of the International Association of Cinematographers, the International Association of Film Archives, the European Union of Film Archives and Europa Cinemas. It aims to collect film productions and documents, their classification, preservation and dissemination. It also expands its network to foreign organizations, organizes regular film screenings, hosts educational events and promotes research regarding the technical and historical development of cinema. The Film Archive of Greece screens artistic films, pays tributes and organizes special screenings and the Athens Innovative Film Festival, with artists from all over the world.
