What I can see
Architect Vassilios Tsagris skillfully managed to divide the volume of this seven-storey building to be aesthetically pleasing. He was an exponent of neo-academic eclecticism with Art Nouveau influences, as shown in this work.
What I can't see
In addition to its aesthetics, the building is also technically important because it is one of the first in which reinforced concrete was used. It belonged to Spyridon Efessios and since the late 1920s the Kaufman bookstore, one of the most famous in the city, was housed here. Also, in the next few years, the movie theatres “Cine News” and later “Astor” were housed.
