This apartment building is an example of the transition from older architectural orders to modernism. Despite the obvious eclectic characteristics, its lines are significantly simpler, as is the case with the decoration, and overall, an innovative orientation is quite evident. The greatest example is the prismatic ercker (projection – enclosed balcony), which is an eclectic element, but in a quite simplified version.
It was designed by Kleovoulos Klonaridis and has been designated a listed building. By law in 1937, the ecker should not exceed 40 centimeters from the surface of the facade. The legislative reduction of the ercker’s dimensions was the precursor to its complete abolition in the following decades.
