What I can see
Katrakio is an open-air theatre with 5,356 seats, located at Selapitsari hill, which used to be a quarry. Theatrical, music and dance performances, concerts and other cultural events are hosted here.
What I can't see
It was designed by the architect Nikos Perdikaris and is named Katrakio in honour of one of the greatest Greek actors of the 20th century, Manos Katrakis. The bronze statue representing Don Quixote, a work by Memos Makris, has a symbolic character, as it was a role that Manos Katrakis performed outstandingly. Many Greek and foreign artists have performed in this theatre, such as Mikis Theodorakis, Christos Leontis, Haroula Alexiou, Giorgos Dalaras, Nina Simone, Neville Brothers, Public Enemy and many more.
