What I can see
The museum consists of a projected neoclassical building and a modern building lined with limestone, which is developed alternately in two zones. Only the facades have been preserved from the neoclassical building, while the coating of its base is made of limestone plates, just like the new building. The modern extension morphologically respects the neoclassical building, has linear recesses, skylights for natural light, sound curtains for the air conditioning units, 7 floors and 5 basements.
What I can't see
The museum’s spaces are developed around the staircase, which is naturally illuminated thanks to the glass elevators. The permanent collection consists of a variety of works by important artists such as Picasso, Van Gogh, Monet, El Greco, Miro, Pollock, Kandinsky, Botero, Tsarouchis, Matisse and many others. There are also optional acoustic guided tours and guided tours available. The museum includes a shop, café, a 187-seat amphitheatre, a library, a children’s workshop and a video room.
