What I can see

The Museum of Greek Children’s Art is located in a neoclassical building in the area of Plaka. Its approximately 7000 objects are winning works in competitions, works that participatedin international exhibitions, children’s toys from Africa and children’s drawings after World War II. Constructions and projects are mainly of children between the ages of 5 and 14. In the museum premises, there are also the so-called “interactive corners”.

What I can't see

It is a rare museum by international standards, which has the contact and familiarization of children with art, the development of their creativity and their artistic education as its main objective. It also promotes children’s art and collaborates with similar institutions in Greece and abroad. Exhibitions of the museum have been hosted in museums and institutions in Greece, such as the Museum of Cycladic Art, the University of Athens, the Hellenic American Union, the Athens Concert Hall, but also abroad, such as the UN headquarters in New York, the Children’s Art Museum of Oslo, the Olympic Museum of Lausanne, the Tate Modern and the Museum of Children’s Art in Japan. Finally, the museum has collaborated with UNICEF, WWF and other organizations.
