What I can see
The building’s shape is oval, and the roof is metal with an extended use of rings, wires and metal sheets. It is mounted on reinforced concrete, and the peripheral sides are dominated by glass. It has been nicknamed as “little SEF” because at the other end of Phalero bay lies the Peace and Friendship Stadium (SEF) and their common element is their curved roof. These two buildings give the impression that they have a dialogue from both ends of the bay. While the sport centre’s area is fenced, one can have a comfortable walk or a run around it, although the site is still not adequately developed. At the same point are sports facilities, which attract many young people.
What I can't see
The stadium has a capacity of 3,836 seats. During the Athens Olympic Games in 2004, it had a capacity of 8,536 seats and hosted the handball qualifiers and the sport of Tae kwon do. Grandstands can be moved with a telescopic mechanism, creating more room. For this reason, the sports centre is an ideal conference centre or place for cultural events.
