ONE KLEOMENOUS

The inspiration of ONE KLEOMENOUS came from an old topographic map of Lycabettus. Through digital design, an architectural "metaphor” was achieved, and the building was assigned with new volumes and plasticity.

What I can see

The 11store building is a private house with six floors aboveground and five underground. It was designed by a team (Omnview), which strongly holds the opinion that a building should be in harmony with its environment, whether artificial or natural. As such, materials and design must always be proportionate. In this case, the building is located on the line between the natural (Lycabettus) and the urban environment; therefore, it must be in harmony with both. On the front side, we see the stratigraphy of the hill, as the end of the grove lies behind. The dominant materials are marblematching with the built and natural environment, as well as with  the historical monuments of the city – and glass, which reflects the colour of the sky and trees. The aim is for the architecture of the building to make a direct reference to the Attic landscape.

What I can't see

Advanced technology was used for the building’s  design. The design and implementation team consisted of 30 people of various specialties, such as engineers, sculptors and other craftsmen and artists. The inspiration came from an old topographic map of Lycabettus. Through digital design, an architectural “metaphor” was achieved, and the building was assigned with new volumes and plasticity. It consists of 2,290 pieces of marble engraved with CNC. Another feature worth mentioning is the internal staircase, which is entirely a result of scripted geometry.
