What I can see
This residential complex resembles a sculpture and exudes tension and calmness at the same time. It consists of 7 independent buildings, which are connected to each other within a plot of 8,350 sq.m. The buildings occupy an area of 6,500 sq.m. and consist of a total of 70 apartments, common area and underground parking lots. The floor plan of the complex is “S” shaped. The parallel horizontal strips stand out, which create impressive perspectives, redefine and give a minimalist perspective to the typical balcony of the typical Greek apartment building and redefine the image of the Greek apartment building itself. At the same time, the linearity of the strips gives a “continuity” to the balconies of the apartments, thus new content in the relationship between private and public space. Two pedestrian streets run vertically through the building block through the atriums, which host gardens in direct contact with the pilotis. Combined with the so-called “mirror pools” in the pilotis, this makes the most of the natural light, allowing it to flow in.
What I can't see
The project by Christina Loukopoulou, Iro Bertaki and Kostis Panigiris cost 1,000,000 euros. The plants of the gardens have been planted based on study.
