What I can see
On the passenger and ticket level of the Agios Ioannis metro station, is the sculpture “The city unites the diversity of people”. It is a mobile sculpture made of stainless steel and electrostatic paint has been applied. Human oversized mobile fingerprints move in front of a chaotic urban landscape construction. It is a symbolic contrast between the megalopolis, in which individuality is lost, and the most characteristic element of our individuality and diversity, the fingerprint. At the same time, it is also a “statement” that the city must be governed by human scale and must always respect diversity.
What I can't see
The name of the station comes from the church of the same name, located just outside. The sculpture was created by the distinguished artist Christina Sarantopoulou.
