What I can see

This festival hosts a wide variety of events, including theatrical performances, film screenings, visual arts, and other parallel activities. The main venue for events is the Old Olive Oil Mill, where there is also an open theater. It was not a well-known festival until Eleusis claimed and won the title of the “European Capital of Culture 2021” in 2017, but the event was postponed for 2023, due to the covid-19 pandemic.

What I can't see

The name of the festival comes from Aeschylus, who was an ancient Greek tragedian from Elefsina. One of the most important parallel events of the festival is the 21km semi-marathon called “Traces of Iera Odos (Sacred Way)”, inspired by the Eleusis Mysteries in antiquity; its starting point is Thissio in the centre of Athens, and the finish line is in Eleusis.
