The first vegan wrapped souvlaki was created at Cookoomela Grill and lovers of fresh mushrooms appreciate it even more. Wrapped souvlakia with mushrooms, instead of meat, and their different versions (red, yellow, green, brown and barbecue, white and classic, pink, rainbow and 3 types of kebab), appetizers, salads, burgers, other dishes and drinks, are made of pure ingredients, coming from selected suppliers of the same ecological mindset and the result is of very high quality. In addition to souvlaki, the gluten free lettuce wrap and the organic lentil soutzoukakia with tomato sauce and almond cheese are particularly popular. Moreover, potatoes are always fresh and fried mostly in olive oil.
All these dishes can also be enjoyed at home (delivery). The creators, Antonis and Vassilis, after decades of experience in restaurants in Athens and New York, made a very bold move. They created the vegan version of the most popular Greek street food, which is originally based on meat. This move has been successful and Cookoomela Grill reached a wider public. Respect for nature, living beings and the environment is at the core of Cookoomela Grill’s philosophy, which leaves the smallest possible environmental footprint, through the use of recyclable packaging, cruelty free and environmentally friendly cleaners. The name Cookoomela comes from the name of the wild mushroom in a local dialect (Vlach) of Epirus and Thessaly areas.
