What I can see
The building of the State Printing is an example of the architectural trends of the 20th century. It covers 3000 sq.m, and space interventions have been limited throughout its history. It was damaged by the Athens earthquake in 1999, but today it has been restored.
What I can't see
State Printing was originally housed in Stadiou Street. Since the independence of Greece, governments have always had typography as a priority for the publication of their actions. This building, which houses such an important service, was donated by Ioannis Chalkokondylis, a descendant of an old Byzantine family. Many of the objects are of historical value and for that reason they have been exhibited to the public in an effort typography to “approach” society.
