What I can see
The Netherlands (Dutch) Institute is housed in a neoclassical building, the central entrance of which has a skylight οn the lintel, the central opening of the second floor has a balcony and the lintels of the openings on the second floor have more elaborate decoration. The openings of the first floor have undecorated frames. The semi-basement consists of stone. The building’s axes are symmetrical and there are pseudo-columns with capitals at its edges.
What I can't see
It used to be called the “Dutch Archaeological School” and the “Dutch Scientific Institute of Athens”. It is one of the archaeological schools of Athens and Dutch researchers and students can conduct archaeological research in Greece. It collaborates with universities and research centres in Greece and the Netherlands and is active in many fields, such as social sciences, Greek history, Greek language and culture, with an emphasis on antiquity. It publishes the scientific journal “Pharos” and also publishes the Pharos Supplement. It is also a member of the Network of Netherlands Science Institutes (NWIB).
