What I can see
It is an early 20th century building that combines neoclassicism (e.g. pediments) with modernism and at the same time, has art deco elements (e.g. the decorations between the openings). In addition to the neoclassical order, the elements of the so-called “Greekness” are the colourful marbles and the coloured mosaics of the second to last floor, which are inspired by Greek mythology.
What I can't see
The building was probably designed by Vassilis Kouremenos, but Biris argues that there was a pre-existing neoclassical building, to which Kouremenos later added the top floors. Kouremenos was supporter of the so-called “rationalist purification” of neoclassicism, i.e. the adaptation of neoclassicism to newer construction and functional conditions of the time.
