What I can see
The Athens Tower consists of two buildings, with 25 and 12 floors respectively. Its architecture is inspired by late modernism and by American and European skyscrapers. It was built with reinforced concrete and, externally, an aluminum frame and glass panels. The contemporary elements of the building include its intonation and the cladding of the frame with white marble.
What I can't see
This was the first glass skyscraper in the city. The design was by Ioannis Vikelas and Ioannis Kympritis. The junta intervened and demanded changes (e.g. the addition of elements expressing the “new Hellenic identity”).
