What I can see
This small park covers an area of about 2.1 acres. Despite its small size, it looks like a garden, with pleasant paths, sitting areas and a playground.
What I can't see
The spot has had lot of name changes. Formerly, it was known as “Pedion tou Areos” (=Champ de Mars) as it was used as an excercising field of the army during the Ottoman period. Later it was renamed into “Anthokomikis Park” (=Flower Park), because every May the exhibition of flowers and garden compositions took place in it. Recently, it was given the name “Sophia Vempo Park”, whose statue is located within the park.
