What I can see

On Olympiados Street, there is an archaeological site that few notice. It is a rectangular Byzantine cistern (water tank). Its dimensions are 19 X 11.7m and its height was approximately 7.5m. The walls are thick and plastered with hydraulic mortar. The marble architectural members come from older (early Christian) buildings.

What I can't see

The cistern was filled through a natural channel. A part of the cistern is buried under an adjacent plot. Finally, its roof consisted of 8 domes in pairs that were supported by walls and columns.
