What I can see
One of the prettiest villages in the area, Petrokerasa, is located in the middle of oak, chestnut and pine forests. Beautiful traditional houses with loggia, traditional grocery stores, bakeries and cafes compose a picture, which has nothing much in common with the nearby bustling city. It is worth visiting the Profitis Helias, the source Makrokopana and the main square of the village.
What I can't see
Petrokerasa is located at an altitude of 580 metres and 55km away from the centre of Thessaloniki. It is one of the favourite destinations of the Thessalonians for day excursions, especially during the winter months. The permanent residents of the village amount to 494. The village is also a starting point for a long hike along the Skala of Zagliveri gorge.
