What I can see
In the narrow and quiet Morkentaou Street, near the White Tower, there is an interesting culinary surprise. Treis Mazi is a restaurant where the visitor is not only introduced to the culinary tradition of Greece, but has also a truly home-cooked meal experience. It is hard to choose a dish that Treis Mazi is famous for, because all dishes have received enthusiastic reviews. Nevertheless, cabbage sarmades (stuffed cabbage leaves), vine sarmades (stuffed vine leaves), meatballs, stuffed vegetables and moussaka stand out. Greek cuisine is not purely meat-based. There are several vegetarian or vegan options, such as briam (mixed vegetables in the oven) and lasagna with vegetables.
What I can't see
In a space that previously housed a bougatsa shop, the two sisters, Evangelia and Athina, decided to use their mother’s recipes and everything she has taught them. In fact, many of the ingredients, such as the vine leaves and cabbages, come from her garden in Pangaio, near Kavala town. Treis Mazi delivers value for money and the pure materials used, contribute a lot to the final result.
